Lake Placid Legacies
What is Lake Placid Legacies?
Lake Placid Legacies (formerly known as North Elba Narratives) is the oral history program of the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society (LPNEHS). The program was originally started in 2017 as a project between LPNEHS and Northwood School, a private boarding school located in Lake Placid. In 2021 the LPNEHS received funding from the Local Enhancement and Advancement Fund (LEAF) to revive the program and continue to collect, digitize and organize oral histories from community members of Lake Placid and the Town of North Elba. Collected oral histories are now available to listen to below!
